TRANSITION TOWN HASTINGS
This is the Transition Town organisation covering Hastings and Rother areas - 1066 country.
Transition Town Hastings is a group of volunteers aiming to start a city-wide community response to the challenges of climate change and peak oil. We want to bring together the collective skills and creativity in Hastings and around to evolve a sustainable low energy future reflected in an Energy Descent Action Plan. We are part of an international network of towns and cities with the same aims, the Transition Network. This is a wiki for the use of the Footprints steering group. It is basically an online noticeboard that we all have access to. There is a sidebar to the right which has links to other pages. Feel free to set up other pages where you think necessary. You can also add a comment to any page.

For co-ordinators and steering group members, here are details of how to use a wiki:
For virgin Wiki users this is how to use it:
The wiki should be a one stop shop for info about footprints. It should prevent us having to email around over and over again. So, if you see something useful or interesting, post it on here. It's easy. If you are an active participant you can get the password from the Transition Town co-ordinators and then you can change a page just by clicking edit, making the change or addition, and then clicking save. Other pages are in the sidebar to the right. If you are worried about doing something wrong, just post a comment using the button above with the info you want to post and where it should go and someone else will move it to the right place. You can post a comment on any page for whatever reason. If you're really foxed by what a wiki is, this is a good video to watch - just 4 mins. For a short description of a wiki click here. i think it would be helpful to just have a bit about the group, on the front page, letting people people know that we have just started and we are open to ideas etc

Hi all,
Stephen from the 'hub' of Transition Brighton & Hove. Nice to see you getting going, but was surprised to see that you have no presence on the Transition Towns list of 'Mullers'. Have you not contacted them or are they just being slow in updating the website?
I think it would be handy to invite viewers to click on the 'Sidebar' on the right of the page as for a while I hadn't realised that there was more than the front page and comments!
Anyway, I have two friends in Hastings - I'll put them in touch with you.
All the very best to you.

There was a great buzz on Mon. 31st March.
Maybe if we meet at the Arts Forum again we could keep cooler and switch off some of the lights?
